If you weren’t already excited about the 2022 season, our confirmed prize announcements should at least get you frothing for your fantasy team.
Next year, in partnership with our friends at Surfing Life, we will be throwing the kitchen sink at our fantasy players, with massive prizes available to those with the fantasy skills:
Grand Prize
The overall season winner for FSS in 2022 will be treated to a 7-day, all-expenses-paid stay at the renowned Kingfisher Resort at the Mentawais for themselves and one very lucky friend. This prize is worth approximately US$5000 and could well be the surf trip of a lifetime. It includes:
– Luxury Beachfront bungalows with AC + hot showers
– Free WIFI
– Three generous meals daily prepared by an in-house chef
– Unlimited filtered water, tea, coffee
– Use of resort amenities; snorkeling gear, SUP’s, spearfishing gear, foilboards, fishing gear, resort scooters.
– Unlimited use of resort speedboats to all local waves, fishing trips and island excursions.
– Airport pickup, transfer to an overnight hotel in Padang
– Hotel pickup the following day, transfer to Fast Ferry, includes ferry tickets and board bag charges.
– Pick up at ferry dock with Kingfisher Resort speedboat.
– This includes departure transfers at the end of your stay up until drop off at the airport for your departure flight.
Read through the above list again and imagine yourself soaking it all up just for playing a fantasy surfing game; crazy, huh?
The only things you’ll need to pay for yourself are:
– Flights
– Hotel in Padang. (Kingfisher can book the accommodation for you in advance, but guests pay for the hotel accommodation directly upon arrival at reception).
– Mentawai Surfing Tax – $USD 70 per person (applicable to surfers only)
Optional extras available at Extra Cost also include:
– Cold beer and soft drinks
– Massages $US 15 per hour
– Surf Photography
– Day trips to distant waves (Macaronis, Telescope, Batcaves, Greenbush, etc.)
Event Prizes
The only issue with the grand prize is that it will only be won by a single player (and their lucky friend). That’s why we’ve rounded out our season with a few killer event prizes as well.
The winner of each FSS event will get the following:
- a 12-month subscription to fuel.tv, the action sports television and streaming service
- a 12-month subscription to Holistic Academy, a surf-targeted, online training and performance program that’s used by pros such as Gabriel Medina and Jack Robinson
We know losing sucks, even in a fantasy game. That’s why our friends at Surfing Life have decided to take the sting out of a bad performance for the player who selects the worst team. For each event, the team with the LOWEST fantasy score will earn one player:
- a 12-month digital subscription to Surfing Life
You’ll note that all 3 prizes are digital, meaning they can be easily won (and used) by players from around the world. And with 10 regular-season events scheduled, there will be plenty of opportunities to win.
So keep an eye out in January for the new season launch, as trading and clubhouses will be open, and our usual event analysis will start to drop.
